After teaming up with Vans just last month, Gallery Dept. has now tapped Asics for the Gallery Dept. x Asics GT-2160. Famed for its high fashion exhibitions and installations, the Los Angeles-based label has transferred its signature paint splatters over to this latest collab.

Taking on the GT-2160 for the first time ever, this sneaker features a breathable ‘White’ mesh base and is overlaid by ‘Pure Silver’ panels throughout. The Japanese sportswear company's legendary Tiger Stripes shoot across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and these are accented in royal blue to make things really pop.

Down below, the highly-sculpted midsole is infused with Gel cushioning for extra comfort and bounciness, and around the heel, you'll find “GT-2160” followed by a bright yellow branded tag. The shoe is then finished off with a multi-colored splash across the entire front, which apparently nods to Gallery Dept founder Josué Thomas' creative process when painting.

Even though the GT-2160 was only introduced back in June, it has quickly become one of Asics' most popular models. The sequel to the GT-2000 that debuted in 2010 (your dad's fave running shoe back in the day), big names like Above the Clouds, Cecilie Bahnsen, Costs, and Dime have all released their own pairs this season. And, judging by just how fast they all sold out, this hype isn't going to disappear anytime soon.
