Twenty-five years after its Japan-only drop, the Dunk Low ‘Reverse Curry’ will finally be available worldwide.
Nike Is Finally ReReleasing One of the Rarest Dunk Lows Ever

Some sneakers are rare but attainable for a (often exorbitant) price. But others, like the Nike Dunk Low ‘Reverse Curry,’ are simply rare. Originally released back in 1999, not only was the shoe made as an exclusive Japan release, they were also sold in very specific stores. That made it pretty much impossible for anyone outside of the country to cop. But now, with its 25th anniversary coming up just around the corner, Nike is finally bringing the Dunk Low ‘Reverse Curry’ to the rest of the world.

First released as part of the CO.JP line (short for Concept Japan), the 2023 re-release stays true to the original blueprint. Outfitted entirely in leather, the base is painted in ‘Dark Curry’ and overlaid by white panels across the toebox, lacing system, and collar. A complementary Swoosh shoots through the lateral and medial sidewalls, and just like the OG from a quarter of a century ago, you'll find additional Nike branding stitched on the tongue tag and heel badge.

Look underneath, and the midsole is infused with rubber for extra bounciness and comfiness (because the Dunk is still a basketball shoe, after all), and it's rounded off with a golden brown outsole.

This isn't the only Japan-exclusive Dunk that's set to make a comeback next year. Both the ‘Brazil’ and ‘Plum’ will also see long-awaited reissues, so if you're a big fan of the silhouette, 2024 is going to be one expensive year.

The Nike Dunk Low ‘Reverse Curry’ is scheduled to drop sometime in Spring 2024 for $115. Unlike its original release, it'll be available via Nike, the SNKRS app, and select stockists worldwide. The shoes'll only be marginally easier to cop this time around—but hey, at least you've got a fighting chance, right?
